My art was born out of necessity…I suppressed my talent believing that all I had to do was go to school, get a job, and life would be easy. And for the past 20 years, I’ve been waiting for someone to give me a job, a raise, or a pat on the back in order to validate my worth.
The most valuable lesson that I’ve learned is that there is a difference between the words job and work…a job is what they pay you to do, and they can fire you at anytime; but find your gift, and you’ll always have work to do.
